    From Kingsburg, California

After doing many searches on this board I feel I have enough information to start my LS project. I recently purchased a low milage 5.3 and 4l60E transmission from a 2007 Classic Silverado. I am going to put the engine and transmission in my 1948 Chevrolet 5 window pickup. I have had this pickup for many years with various inline 6 cylinder engines. The last engine gave out and I parked the truck till I finished my 1957 Nomad. Now it is time to start this project.

I will be asking questions as I begin work. In reading the form if I can help some one, I will respond.

    Kingsburg is near Fresno Ca

    1948 Chevy Pickup 5.3 install

Just finished the 57 Nomad. The photo was taken at Good Guys Pleasanton August 2008. I am now working on my 5.3 into a 1948 Chevy pickup,

Originally up to a few months ago I had a big block Chevy setting on the 48. Changed my mind. Decided on the LS engine.

Guess my pictures did not come thru!!

Sounds like a righteous project. The 5.3 will give you the reliability and mileage so that you'll be able to drive that thing any time you feel like it.
