    DEXRON®-VI Transmission Fluid

Is Dexron VI transmission fluid a dealer only item. This fluid is called for in my owners manual and I hear it is for 2006 and new GM vehicles, I have looked at local part stores with no luck of finding it . So if someone could give me some insight I would appreciate it.

Castrol now sells a universal trans fluid. I guess its okay for the new stuff. I would have it at the dealer wondering why you're losing fluid if its that new and needs fluid.

Is it really high at the dealer or something? It works fine with anything earlier but it's all the newer stuff ever used.

I'll give you dealer retail and what I could sell it for IF we had it in quarts.

    We use bulk.

Do you guys have a preference on the brand ie: Valvoline , Mobil 1 , etc. and how many quarts will I need for a filter change?
