    LS1 cam

Anyone know of a comparison between a 5.3 stock vs a 5.3 with an LS1 cam?

Just curious what a person might expect, as that cam is all over ebay and under $100 shipped, new.

    Thanks.

I like colorful graphs and dyno data if available.

There's not a lot of difference between the two cams. I would expect about 15-20 HP, depending on the model year of the LS1 cam.

well, if bankers spec sheet is right.

then the LS1 camshaft should be good for 30-40hp, am I reading it right? This considers the 5.3 at 290hp and based on the fact both seem to share simillar head flow, subtract .4 liter.

any confirmation on the 2003 5.3 power ratings, Im getting all kinds of numbers?

You can't base the HP difference on the camshaft alone. There's also tuning and compression to take into account. As I stated in my first post, based on the valve timing difference, you can expect a 15-20 HP increase. Opt for the LS6 cam and the numbers go up to 25-30 HP.

Is there a dyno graph anywhere of the stock 5.3 vs a 5.3 with any of these camshafts?
