Difference in years for 4l80e??

In looking for an engine/trans combo for my swap, im coming up kinda short on 6.0/80e setups.

I was wondering, would an older model 80e be just as easy to swap in with say a 5.3 than the same year? Specifically i have been looking for 2002 5.3/6.0/80e, but could i use say a 97 80e out of an OBS for the swap? Is the wiring the same? Obviously I would rebuild it, but other than that are they effectively the same unit?
