    Hello

    Just getting used to having a truck (after years of pissing in the wind with hondas). I just have a 05 scsb with a 4.3 and looking at getting a 5.3 or 6.0 in it by this summer. goals for this truck are to run low 12's or better and keep ac and ps. keep in mind i just got rid of a honda which had none of those. prolly going 4/6 drop and a set of 20's maybe. have to wait and see on the wheels.

    Welcome!!! Do a 6.0 swap, cam, full bolt ons, headers, posi and of course Nelson tune and you should be close. You'll still be able to keep a/c and p/s. The only thing you won't be able to keep is traction and tires with tread!!!

    Welcome to the site Mike...good talking to you on the Shout Box...um, er the uh..."Live Tech Help" chat. And this talk about wanting to keep the A/C and P/S...you douche--these are V8 motors--not glorified motorcycle motors... Dropping in a 5.3L and getting into the 12's is possible, but it will be harder than doing a 6.0L. A LQ9 with proper bolt ons will get you there!

    cool, whats does the LQ9 6.0L come in. and will my tranny bolt up and hold up to it or should i look for a 4L80 while im at it?

    LQ9's came in 02-06 Escalade, 02-06 Denali, 03-07 Silverado SS, or in some 04-07 Classic trucks (VortecMax).

    Oh, and a LVL 5 4L60e can be bolted up. No real need for an 80e unless you are going to be pushing more than 550 hp....
