    partial "noob" from Vermont

Hey guys, great site you've got going here!
My name's Tanner and I currently drive a 1998 Chevy Tahoe, but that's staying stock. The real reason I'm here is because I'm swapping a 2003 Chevy 5.3l out of an Avalanche into my 1991 Nissan 240sx. I have a GTO oil pan to throw on, then the engine is gonna be getting a T56 tranny, and most likely a ls6 intake swap after its all mounted and running in the car the way it is factory.
The swap won't be done until spring time because the car is in storage, but I will definitely post a build thread on here.

Right now the only thing that I feel I need to figure out is the wiring for the swap (I don't really want to pay $4-500 to have a company do it but I might), and the fuel supply. I'm thinking of running a Walbro 255lph fuel pump with an aftermarket pressure regulator, but again, I'm not quite sure.

But, yeah. If anyone has any advice or comments that'd be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks

What are you looking to do internally to the 5.3? I think the walbro 255 should be just fine with that setup. That 240 is going to bad when its done.

    Welcome

Check out the OBS to LS1 conversion sticky. Its pretty much the same idea to convert over to any vehicle.

Thanks guys, I'll definitely be checking out the sticky.
As for internals I think I'm gonna keep it stock for a little while, just to get a feel for the crazy torque/lack of traction it's gonna have. But I'd like to throw a cam in it, no clue what yet. I haven't really thought about what I'm gonna do internally, I would like to possibly bore it out to 5.7 specs but I'm not really sure. I would really like to supercharge it eventually, but I don't think I'd need it; seeing as I only want to make around 450-500whp at most in this little car. Any thoughts on that subject?

Sick Z, those Datsuns are cool, I haven't seen any around here though. Speaking of not seeing any, I've only seen 3 240sx's in vermont including mine...

    Thanks again for the replies!

Turbo would be the way to goo on the 240. That thing would make some sick power if you put a 67, or 70 on that thing.

Welcome Tanner! Sounds like you have quite the project on your hands here... Just a few things: Yes, you will need a F-Body/GTO oil pan, but since you are taking a 5.3L out of a truck that had a 4L60e behind it, you will need to get the flywheel from an F-body/GTO that had a 6-speed. Besides that, the Walbro will suit your needs just fine. You also are going to have to fab up your own motor mounts, headers, crossmember, etc... It will be quite the extensive project, but I am sure it will be badass when you finish!

Update! Picked up the engine from Bow Auto parts in NH today. I feel I got a great deal, every accessory, computer, mounts, everything except the tranny for $850.

Anyway, here's some pics. Now I've got to save and find a T56...
