    Hello everyone,
First I'd like to say this site is awesome...saw some pics of some great looking trucks. I'd like to ask you all for some help with a swap that I'm about to start.
I have a 1998 chevy s10 with a puny 2.2L I have acquired a 2003 6.0L engine that I would like to drop in. I have a few pics that I will attach of the engine.
I have several questions I would like to ask that would really help me out.

I would like to place an LS1 intake on this engine, I know its possible but what year of an intake am I limited to, if at all? The engine I have is missing the entire intake including fuel rails.

If I purchase an LS1 intake, what else would I need. I know I have to buy a throttle body and injectors, but what else would I need? Also would any changes need to be made to the engine itself to accept an LS1 system?

ECU-The 6.0 I have now has no ECU, after I add an LS1 intake system and possibly a cam, would I have to buy a custom ECU, if so where could I possibly purchase one.

Swap kit- I was going to purchase the kit from Lees High Tech Trucks but unfortunately their site has been down for sometime. Does anyone know if they are still in buisness?? Also I have heard Advanced adapters has a kit available for my engine but from what I've seen it's all older stuff than what I've got. Is there somewhere else with the kit I need. I think I really need is the motor mounts, a custom oil pan, wiring harness, and headers, everything else I think I can fabricate and/or purchase somewhere else.

Well I think that's all I really need help from you experts on. This is my first Chevy conversion, I've done 3 ford swaps....ford seemed to be much more complicated, every engine was different with little compatibilty. Unfortunately I just do not know chevy engines that well yet.

Thank you all in advance for your help.

Not too sure about the intake, they are all pretty much interchangeable. The later years have one fuel line in and are returnless from the engine.
It is a good idea to pick up an oil pan for the swap as well, Street and Performance makes one with a pickup tube. The pan is about $450 I think, but you don't have to take as much out of the crossmember for the swap. Saves a bit of time and vehicle integrity.
Sanderson makes a set of swap headers for the LS1 S-10, they are shorties, and I think they are only 1-1/2" primaries, but they fit and work.
The ECU can be a standard off the shelf unit, but he programming needs to be changed in order for everything to work right.
Check out currentperformance.com for the wiring and ECU information.
As for Lee's, He is still in business, he is just not making a lot of people happy right now, so his website was pulled to prevent further victims.

you need to use an uncut pan . you actaully lose oil volume (1 1/2 quart)when you get a cut one . it will hang down about 1 1/2" below the crossmember but you can make a skid plate to protect it . I never had any problems with my set up .

Thanks a lot, answered a lot of questions for me. Once I get all the parts assembled I put some pics, I'll probably be asking for more help before long....Thanks again
