Thread: How much boost can a 5.3 handle

    I love this site GREAT info everyone. Could anyone recommend some mods to the top end that would work well with the blower? if I have some money left after the tranny I would like to do what I can.

    I only say 10psi because the truck intake sux and the pistons are weak. He wanted safe, so 10psi is safe.

    We have a few customers running 15psi, but they have the carb intake. I think that's why they are surviving.

    Well i was wrong on the crankshaft part but Im glad Im on the same page as allen on the boost part. means ive been paying attention!!!
    so the crank is good foor 600hp or 900?

    10 psi. I would change the valve springs, push rods, just for added insurance. The valve train is the weakest link on the LS motors. The bottom will hold just fine.
