Can anyone help with my speedometer ?

I have a 89 c1500 and am trying to get my speedo and temp sender working. I ordered the 98 camaro 3 wire temp sender and pigtail, so witch wires go where? The delco plug will all be white. On my speedo I searched a lot on here but all post talk about the vss buffer behind the glove box, isn't the DRAC inside the cluster from 88-93? So any help? Thanks in advance. Jim

The DRAC is back behind the radio on those trucks, if I recall correctly...

However, your PCM is capable of generating the proper signal for your current speedometer, though you may need to get the PCM flashed to get it to send the data out as stock it goes through the GMLAN connection to the instrument cluster.

Not sure which wire is which for the sending unit though...

The VSS should hook to a pickup sensor on the tail shaft housing, passenger side of a 4L60e. 4L80e has two sensors on the driver side. The rear one is the speed sensor and the front one is the input shaft sensor.

BTW, the 3 wire coolant temp sensor isn't accurate for the OBS trucks. You can use it for reference but I'd rather use a factory sensor screwed into the head.

There's a light blue wire coming out from the instrument cluster that you tap that wire into. On my 92 and 93 the blue wire connected to a DRAC box behind the glove box but your truck won't have one located there. The wire may be going to your original PCM. Cut it and splice into that light blue wire.

My dash wiring will be different[6.2 diesel]. I tied into the blue wire and nothing, I don't have a dash wiring diagram for the diesel. So I'm back to the start, Can anyone help with my speedometer? Jim
