Is anyone looking into getting some headers made from TOG or something? If not, im going to think about going ahead and doing it, because I really need some, im not sticking with the stock manifolds when I do it.

Just curious if anyone else besides Allen has considered it, and if they have do they plan to take action? I'll be doing it early summer if no one else does. Thanks guys.

I would be very interested in this as that is about the time frame i would be able to do so. My engine will be out of the shop next friday and i have alot of little stuff to do b4 i am ready for headers. keep me posted if you hear anything. I have been in contact with Lanes in dallas and he may know someone that can do custom headers for me.

I wonder if the Edelbrock headers made for the Hummer 6.0 will work for our application. I need some headers too but am going with cast manifolds for now.

I might just have to keep my cast manifolds too. Grrrr.

How would the hummer ones be anything alike though Greg? Allen tried some HD headers I believe and it was going to take some serious altering to make them work.

The Hummer uses the 5.3 and 6.0 engines with the same exhaust as ours. I would love to try a pair on my 92 and see if they will fit and clear everything.

    Do it!

I don't have the LS1 in yet so I have no way of seeing how everything is going to go. the more I think about it, I may just bring the truck somewhere and pay someone 1k to make me some custom longtubes.

how hard is it to make your own headers if no one has a set that will work?

good questions -- im willing to bet there's some sort of starter kit for them. Allen talked about it, not sure what he has for pipe bending stuff.

Ultimately you'd need a mandrel pipe bender capable of bending 1 1/2 or whatever header tubing is, and be walking back and fourth fitting everything perfectly. Nothing that couldn't be done in a weekend if you have a lift and a nice mandrel pipe bender!!!!!

    (I WISH)

I'm going to figure out something though, any other suggestions appreciated.
