Hence, why I haven't bothered to mess with it. Looking into a better alternative. I'll have to look up the line size. I don't remember...

HEY VINCE, what's the line size?!?!

    Uploaded some pics...

Two busted rotor guide (plastic) & one good one. Take a look at the assembly instructions to see where the new one goes.

    Step-by-step (nothing fancy)

Mate that side with the one below, and you're done.

BTW... that lil plastic guide only fits on one side of the rotor. There are tabs for alignment. I didn't show a pic where I slid that plastic piece against the rotor before placing it into that half of the pump. Hard to mess that up.

Also... I bought compression fitting to take care of the line leak. Gonna cut it, and join the two ends... whenever I get the motivation to get back under the truck.

Did you check the mating surfaces to see that they are totally flat before you bolted the halves together? I used some real long hose clamps to line up the OD halves, FWIW.

That is pretty cool, a variable displacement pump. I thought it was a gear pump like a engine oil pump. Maybe I need to get one just to disassemble and see what is in there.

Red... yeah the surfaces were flat (phawkin' surprising... considering Murphy has seemed like a resident in my home). I checked after Vince advised of possibility of uneven surfaces. I used a large square for a straight-edge. Kinda difficult to do in the bed of a pickup.

I too expected more inside the pump before I got ahold of an ATSG manual. The manual is great for learning. Experience teaches you the tricks of the trade.

    Anyhow... Finally off da jackstands...

Tube after cut... right wear the pinhole was.

Cleaner than JB Weld. And no leaks!

BTW... test drove truck and shifts through all the gears as it should. The only thing that worries me is the lockup seems to strong. I think I'll restore the settings back to stock. I had them modified for 98% & 90%.

Oh yeah... make sure the outer edges of the pump halves are COMPLETELY straight! Otherwise, you could be in for trouble. If it doesn't slide in the trans smoothly, DO NOT FORCE IT! I started to do that, and luckily I pulled it out and checked. The halves weren't aligned EXACTLY even. The slightest shift (no matter how insignificant) could cause trouble with bolting the pump back... seems like you could strip a thread on the case.
