Keep checking the fluid until you get it full. You can pull one of the trans cooler hoses and see if it's pumping fluid if it doesnt engage once it's full of fluid. Hopefully you didn't break the front pump installing the engine. It happens sometimes that you think you had the convertor lined up correctly but it was sticking out too far. When you tighten the transmission bolts up to draw the engine up to the bell housing you break the front pump.

The spacer and convertor extension are 4L60e parts.

I'm thinking the transmission would even work if you didn't have any connections made to it at all. Am I correct guys? Anyone tried it by accident?

I think you're right, the tranny will work without connections because if you look at the instructions for a painless harness, it lists all the transmission connections as (optional).

Well, it looks like i will be dropping the tranny. I hope I didnt break the pump. I can say that when I try to go down to RND321 and go back to P, it makes a gear grinding noise.

Like I said I have a 2WD 4L80e that is in great shape, looks brand new, I guess it has only 34k on it but I need a 4WD, anyone want to trade??

I think it would work, drive in some gear. I forgot to hook up power to my 4L60 when I first did the conversion and it still went forward and reverse. I think it was 2nd gear for forward.

Ran across a flexplate bolt kit and crankshaft spacer for adapting a Gen 1 or 2 trans to a Gen 3 or 4 small block. It is for the 4L80e. 94 4L80e to a 2001 6.0, is this what I need?

Unbolt the torque convertor from the flywheel and then push the convertor back towards the transmission as far as it will go. If it's more than 1/4" you may not even be engaged to the pump drive. Since your engine/transmission assembly you purchased was for a 80e then you should not be really having an issue with the convertor, but it may still be possible. Try that first and let us know the results.

You might try turning the convertor while pushing it backwards to see if it engages the drive teeth, about a 1/2 turn at the max since there are two drive lugs for the pump. Only worry about that if you don't get any fluid flow from the cooler lines.

That was exactly what I was thinking. I wonder what would happen if you installed spacers and longer bolts if that is what was needed?

My only concern with spacers and longer bolts is if he has any convertor pilot engagement. I'd be test fitting the convertor to the flywheel outside of the truck to see that all is well before adding any other parts.
