Gear suggestions
Tired of spinning and trying to decide on gears for a 2000 rcsb 6.0/th400 since im getting a truetrac soon, has the stock 3.42 10 bolt in it. Truck is bolt on currently but looking to stick a healthy cam in it later this year. Stall is pretty small at 2600 but im also looking to have it rebuilt to 3200 in a couple months. That being said I'm trying to decide on gears for street/strip, its just a weekend truck so the cruise doesn't have to be great. Currently at about 2600rpm at 65ish on a 33in tire. It spins from 70 as is and I do want it to! With my current stall the calculated rpm looks like 2800 w/3.73 and about 3100 w/4.10. I could live with the 4.10's and this stall, but I'm wondering how much more slip the 3200 stall might have, its a 9.5in converter, any input on how much it might slip? Maybe another 2-300 rpm pulling a hill? Truck is well under 4k lb so it may not slip too bad. Any input is appreciated. Oh one other thing, I thought I saw someone mention 3.90's with a truetrac, I don't see that offered anywhere or am I mistaken? Thanks!
