Okay so I have been reading ever since I have been a member of this here forum and really have picked up some good information. So here is my question. Thinking about dualing my 5.3. I got a muffler shop who has been in business for as long as I can remember. He is offering to dual my truck out. He said it helped his 2001 back when he had it. So here it goes and my question will follow.
He will cut my Y pipe at the rear where it comes together and dual it from, there. He will run the same diameter pipe to the 2 mufflers and then out the rear with stainless steel tips. The mufflers will be Flowmaster copycats... VXs I think he called them.
So now comes my question or questions.
Which is the best setup for the mods I have as of now. It is my daily driver. So muffler back dualed out or the true duals as mentioned above will give me the best results; such as, power, fuel economy, etc...
And by dualing out will it get the backfire pop?
And my final question is if I do dual it out will 2 mufflers or a single muffler be the best way to go? Meaning a muffler with 2 inlets and 2 outlets or 2 single mufflers?
Any information will be appreciated.
