I wanted to start a new thread so we can document the length and types of factory driveshafts. I need a one piece replacement for my two piece unit and cannot find this information anywhere so I thought we could document what we have for those who may be in the same predicament as me. I know Allen had to find a Suburban shaft when his Avalanche got an 80E. This might have helped his search.

.) Engine type/size

.) Transmission type

.) rear end type, 10 bolt, 12 bolt, 14 bolt

.) One piece or two piece with a carrier bearing

.) Driveshaft material, steel or aluminum

.) Size of U-joint, i.e. 1-1/16 or 1-3/16" bearing caps

.) Distance from the center of the rear end u-joint to rear end of transmission

.) Length from center of the rear end u-joint to opposite end center of the u-joint

.) If two piece, length of the front half of the driveshaft measured from the centerline of one u-joint to the centerline of the other

.) Type of vehicle, RC/regular cab, EC/extended cab, CC/crew cab 4 door, TBSS, Tahoe, Suburban, SSR, ...

.) Bed length if applicable.. LB/long bed 8', SB/short bed 6' 2", SSB/crew cab shortest bed 5' 8"

.) Year of vehicle

I'll start this one out tomorrow when I measure my 93 ECSB and 2007 CC with the dwarf length bed.

Measure as close as you feel comfortable. This isn't rocket science, we don't have to get it to the n'th degree.
