I just drained the fluid from my transmission pan and only about a gallon went in the bucket. I know a little more is in the pan but where are the other 6 quarts? I think about 4 may be in the convertor but that still leaves a lot to be accounted for. The fluid was full in park, on level ground, at temp after a 30 mile drive.

Oh yeah, it has the stock convertor in it so it holds a lot of juice.

You may be right. Since the drain plug is in the side, maybe a quart is still in the pan.

See if I ask for help ever again! You're so mean Mr Man.

I like to drain the fluid out and refill it every 10k but I thought I got more out of it last time. I am having to replace the 3-4 clutch pack due to burning it out. I bought some Raybestos blue plates and it came with an instruction sheet to drill a hole in the input drum to bleed off fluid behind the clutches. I've never heard of that before but Raybestos says that is the reason for so many 3-4 clutch pack failures. We'll see how it goes.

Drain hole/vent for input drum area fluid. Hmm... Where's our resident trans pro when you need him? I'll have to get some opinions on that for when I pull mine out soon.

yeah, it's in the pressure zone but it's only about a .041 hole and they say it won't affect the strength of the apply because the pump is strong enough to handle the leak. If I had a scanner I'd post the instruction sheet up.
