Fuel sending unit block off?

I have a 1996 short box that formerly had 4.3 V6 that I am swapping to a 4.8 LS engine. I was going to swap the fuel pump over to the 87' Grand national for my 2004 4.8 engine. It has no return line. What have other guys done to block off the tube on the fuel sending unit in the gas tank? seems kind of butch to me to run a chunk of hose with a plug in it, but maybe that's what everybody else has done? Any suggestions?
