Top end rebuild Pushrod Tap Or I am crazy
Hey everyone long time reader new member.
Recently at 180k my 10 Silverado LC9 collapsed a DOD lifter. I decided if I am going to rebuild it, I am going to do it right and Delete DOD and VVT. I have been doing Small Block Chevy 283 and 350 since I was 12 so figured can't be that bad, and it wasn't. SO I started ordering with a bit of research. I sent the heads out to be surfaced and valves worked and polished/ported. got them back and got everything back together broke out the old pushrod length checker. Since I didn't have it fired up yet and the lifters were not pumped up yet I found the following article on a corvette forums discussing hydraulic lifter length checking. How do you check pushrod length @ Corvetteforum.com I did exactly that and using my caliper to check not turn count I cam up with 7.241 then added about .060 preload and came up with 7.300. Ordered and Installed. Completed Assembly got started Tune, Goes on Dyno in about 3 weeks. The Question I have is in the Videos I have linked on YouTube, there is a blatantly obvious Tick. Is it that My pushrods are yet too short or am I being OCD and just hearing it due to the long tubes vs old manifold.
Thanks in advance for any input you might have.
