New Guy - Don't have an LS equipped truck...yet

I'm into the LS family of engines due to the fact that I own a 2002 Camaro. Currently I'm putting a front mount turbo kit on it using truck manifolds (Forged LS1, MPT76, E85). The manifolds I have already are the kind with the port (for EGR?) on it. I'm looking for the kind without the port. I found a nice set in the for sale section, but I can't post there. I sent a PM to Wtfan18, but there has been no response. Anyway, this forum looks like it has lots of good info on it, so I'll be surfing around...

Welcome the for sale section takes 30 posts and being a member for 30 days to be able to post in it. That policy has kept out a lot of scammers, you can't always protect against stuff like that, but you'll find this site is very good for buying and selling.

I have always been curious about this:
Why is it that people want the non-EGR manifolds for turbo setups when you can just block the EGR port with a plate and it is only on one side? Is it a flow issue? Clearance issue?
