Oh so it's the gray plastic thing that has to go? I see. Thanks for the always helpful advise. It's good to know that nothing is wrong with the mounts. I just need to work with it more. I'm glad I didn't finally get it now that it has to come back out lol.

Ya I probably could but I'm a noob so I'll probably take it out to make sure I don't screw it up. Besides, my converter came in so I'll probably try to put the motor and trans in together.

Any advice on the speedo? My wiring buddy gave me the wire coming from the ECM for speedo signal and I have to figure out which wire I hook it up to on the speedometer.

do a quick search in this section or search my build an see. i think its like q blue an white wire behind the glove box but i cant recall.

just curious why you didnt get the converter made on the LS1 bolt pattern to keep your stock flywheel with the 80E splines.

Alright if no one knows off hand bout the speedo wire then I will do some searching.

I'm not sure why I would want the custom converter you aret talkin bout? I got the flywheel and spacer for $35 so that's probably cheaper than a conversion converter...

OK, the thing is in and 95% plugged in. All it needs is trans fluid, coolant, and the battery put back in. I wanted so badly to get the first start today but I ran out of time. I had that much left at 6:15 and had to be at work at 7 and had to shower etc still.

I have more pics but I'm at work now and the cam is at home.

It took me, my friend, and his dad bout 4 hours to wrestle the motor mounts in place. There was a point where I really thought they weren't gonna fit. When we put in the drivers side mount the passenger side wouldn't get even close but when we put in the passenger side the drivers side came much closer and eventually lined up after some cutting and beating.
The trans lines took some massaging before they would work. The clearance between the header and where the trans lines go in is a slight issue. I had to massage them to fit and they still actually make contact with the header collector. I dunno if this will overheat the fluid or not.

I noticed you said originally you eliminated the drac. How did you wire the speedo without the drac?

direct from the PCM to the instrument cluster wire. AFAIK the 1991 doesn't have a DRAC module, not for sure on that one though. My friend had a 1990 and it didn't have one, at least in the same location behind the glove box.

Well I can't figure out which cluster wire to tap into. The diagrams I looked at showed more than one speedometer related wire. One from speed sensor, one from the ECM labeled vss, and I think one more.
I think I read somewhere that pre-91 trucks have the drac box in the cluster.
