    my 4l60e is junk

well heres the problem , my tranny's acting up on 1st to 2nd . when it's in 1st and rpms get to about 3500 i can feel it slipping ,then it will shift into second and keep slipping till rpms come up then goes into gear, 3rd and 4th work just fine . any ideas of what might be causing this other than it being a 4l60e? thanx in advance

The 1-2 clutch pack is most likely smoked. 4L60E isnt a bad transmission at all, it just needs to be built right and they can easily handle 450-550 horsepower and be reliable.

Mine is doing the same thing but I think it's because I towed 10,000 lbs with it. Shoulda bought a 2500HD

make sure you use the correct valve body gaskets. Wrong one will blow your 3/4 pack IIRC. You may have a leak somewhere in the input drum, leaking at a seal or the input shaft. Make sure you didn't nick any of the seals in the front drum.
