I am going to mount my amps on the back wall in my truck. Now I have a few ideas of how I am going to do it but I have a a few questions. Is the back wall a double layer? How thick is the back wall steel thickness wise and over all if it is a double layer? Should I leave a slight gap between the amps for a little more air circulation?
Step 1. crus at it.
Step 2. get a hammer.
Step 3. torch it.
Get a sheet of 1/2" MDF, cut to size of the back wall, and mount using strips of industrial strength velcro. No holes through the back wall this way. I did it on my truck and it held up great for 6 years.

Tried that in my 69 and the glue on the back of the velcro kept melting in the summer heat. Make sure you get the good stuff.Originally Posted by thunder550

Do you recall which brand you used??
cut wood strips to put inbetween the 'indents' in the back wall
then get a 1/4 inch thick wood piece and hot glue nail it to the back wall
put sound deadening over that.
get 1/4 inch wood screws and attach

I don't know which brand, but I got it at Home Depot. They were really wide strips, something like 2" or so.
