I know asking a lot of questions today. But I hear you need a fly wheel spacer if you ahve a 97 4l60e. would you still need one if you got a aftermarket torque converter? where do you get the spacer if needed

if you special order the converter to be built for a LSx engine/old style 60e transmission it will bolt right in. What engine do you have? 99-2000 LSx 6L engines will bolt right to the old style trans.

That 6L engine will destroy that V6 transmission in short time.

Any GM dealership. I bought mine from www.crateenginedepot.com along with 6 longer bolts. Scoggin Dickey at SDParts.com: Performance Parts, Racing Engines, Racing Engine Parts, Race Engines, Race Engine Parts - SDPC will have them also. Another place is 700R4, 700 Raptor Transmission from PATC, 700R4 4L60E 48RE 4L80E . I think Hughes sells a slip on extension that goes on the old 60e converter pilot and slips into the 6L crank.
