Hey newbie

Thought I'd introduce myself.

I'm really a hardcore dodge guy (don't hold it against me here is some Current ram info), but I'm working on plans to rebuild a 1990 chevy c1500 that my father left after he passed away last year.

It's a beat up reg. cab long box, and I plan on getting a short box frame and new box, fixing the rusty rockers and cab corners and have been thinking about an LS1 with a 6spd manual.

The biggest thing holding me back from going LS1 right now is figuring out the motor mounts so if anyone could help that would be great.

I would be interested hearing from anyone that has done the 6spd conversion also, as the truck is currently an auto.

whats up HD....i thought i remembered that screen name from some where...i think i sold you something(tg converter??) from my Ram. im big nasty on DTO.

welcome! Allen(farmtruc) or GMCwantsLS1 can help you with the mounts...i think S&P sells them too. so far the 6spd conversion is a bit of a headache for me witht he pedals being hung. mine was an auto as well.

You are having problems with the clutch master cylinder and the pedals?

I was wondering how bad that would be, I've seen some trucks where the holes and everything are already there and it's just a bolt in deal, but never checked the chev to see.

One thing I have been wondering is if the ls1 combo uses linkage for the throwout bearing or if it is just hydraulic lines (would make life alot easier).

I wouldn't be so sure I could fab up the mounts, although I have no idea how in depth of a mount needs to be made. Basically if something needs to be welded together to make it, I have doubts about me doing it, hehe

So is sleeper correct in saying that you make some conversion mounts for my application? I just may be interested, when the time comes.
