Well in the process of getting ready to get the motor in and tranny and what not, I feel its time to update the tires. Seeing as how I don't want to put new tires on the stockers I have now, I have been looking into some cheap wheel combos I can go with for now.

I personally love black wheels, and I think they would look good on my truck. Later on the down the line I am going to look into some other wheels such as some centerline stingrays, but for right now I just want some different wheels to mount some street tires on, so I can put some slicks on my 16s. Here are a couple of ideas.

I saw these on a guys black truck over on pt.net.

They come in 15s, 16s, or 17s and are only like $55 a piece, now I think that is a good deal.

Another idea I had is buying some 05 stockers and just powder coating them black. I thought about getting new centercaps for my stockers I have now (because he center caps are trashed), and then powdercoating those black, but I dont know if I want to do that. I have seen the 16s that are on my truck now powder coated, except for the centercap, but I dont think I like it.

Just give me some input, and im not looking to spend big bucks on rims right now. Just a cheap wheel I can put on for a while. Oh and I am probably going to be getting some general grabbers for tires.

Thanks for the input,
David

I wish they were wider than 8", but I think I would like it. Tires would be cheaper too. Not too heavy either.

Too much rim for the truck and how low it is. I might get 20s later but right now I wanna go fast and I guess I dont want anything to slow me down and 20s would.

I was lookin @ these, but they aint cheap... DeModa Customs Intimidator 2

or id go with these again, Helo Black Maxx 6 , But they are getting pretty common,
id go with 18 inchers or bigger diameter so you have room for bigger brakes, You could get This rim in 16x10 for some good sized slicks buut i dont know if would fit back there, your truck looks pretty low
Personally I like The Helos over other rims, they are reasonably priced and are avalible in a lot of diffrent sizes
Powdercoadting all of that stuff sounds expensive fore soemthing that your going to swap out later
Your Cheapest Allternative is to pick up 4 black stock steel wheels with matching black plastic centercaps(only black ones i could find were GMC) @ a junkyard, im sure that satisfy you for a bit, i did that a long time ago, thought it made the truck look meaner, was happy with it till I had the $$ For the Helos.

I always thought about getting the DeModa wheels. I like the Helo's on your truck alot, but not on mine. When I first wanted wheels I almost got peer pressured into getting them (jethro). But now Im just looking for something real simple and light with a considerable amount of tire.

What would be a better backspacing? 4in or 5in?

EdIT* anyone know a good tire size for 17s? I want enough tread and want it to be about 27-28" tall inflated...
