Got the S&P motor mount plates, and the stock V8 engine stands. w/ the mounts on the frame.

I've enlarged the holes for the frame side mounts and I still cannot get them to work. I had to grind the stands to fit them between the metal tabs on the rubber mount, and after I get that fixed the holes are WAY off.

Looking at it, and thinking that the S&P plates are too thick.

Am I missing something? Where can I get some nice steel plates that are thinner, FAST?

The S&P plates should work but you might have to open the holes up a little like you said. I would mount the plates on the block with the factory brackets. If you leave the motor mounts somewhat loose from the frame you might be able to get things to slide into place. Do you have some pics so we can better understand what's happening?

The holes in the frame were drilled out to 5/8" and I slid them as much as I could.

Will try to get pics of it later on.

Here is a link to some pics. You can see how much they are off. Also, notice that the trans mount isn't right either.

BTW: Was searching and saw your post where you dropped your motor in. What plates did you use? Also, what stands, mine looked different and I had to cut out the hump on the backside, I like yours much better.

Drill new holes in the frame for the transmission crossmember. If you can, loosen the mounts on the crossmember until you get the bolts through the engine mounts. Looks like you've almost got it whipped.

Had to eat my words, went and looked at the pics again. Are you sure the poly mounts are installed correctly? Maybe they're in backwards?

The poly mounts are in correctly. I went through this before and they don't make it any better worse than the rubber ones do.

The mounts on the frame are slid up as much as possible. w/ 5/8 holes. I don't feel comfortable going any bigger.

I went out again and enlarged the holes on the engine stands and moved them down on the motor as much as I could. This helped. The drives side hole is about 1/4" off and the passenger about 1/2" off. I guess tomorrow I will enlarge these holes a tad more, and see if I can make it work. If I were using steel plates I could just enlarge those and it would be alot easier.

    Any other thoughts?

I am thinking your poly mounts are installed wrong. The tabs on the ends should be a 90 degree angle to the mounting plane. They look to be at about 45 degrees.

The only other way is turned 90 degrees, and that would make things even worse.

Here's what they're supposed to look like mounted correctly. Never mind that these are factory mounts you're looking at, aftermarket are supposed to be the same. Notice the orientation of the locating tabs on the mounts.
