How much drop did you see from removing the load leaf on an extended cab?

    Thanks in advance.

On a regular cab, i only noticed the width of the leaf, but to yell you the truth, its hard to even notice...how low are you trying to go and what have you already done to lower it?

    SCIV,

Just get some drop shackles and call it a day. They are cheap and easy to install. Depending on which ones you get you can lower the rear either 1.5 or 2.5 inches.

No more trucks, but this is what I used to have. 2000 GMC Sierra, 6.0L-LQ4, Built 4L60, LS6 Cam, The Other Guys Headers, 3 inch exhaust and 7 chamber flowmaster, 43lb injectors, Nelson Tuning, Drop - 3/4 McGaughys Spindles, Bell Tech Shackles & Hangers. Best time 13.59 @ 106

I already have Belltech 2" drop shackles, but plan on dropping the front about 2". So I will need about 1" more out back to level it back out, and was hoping that removing the load leaf would do it.

I am worried about wheel-hop becoming an issue with the new stall & cam fixed. I guess I can address that when I get there.

yeah get hangers and then adjust yor shackels back down to the 1inch hole..the hangers are a bitch to put in, but they are only around $100, you'll need a grinder to grind off the heads of the big huge rivets, then i used my air hammer to finish pushing the rivets through once i got them grinded off..after that , it was pretty much just putting it back together..good luck

Next step is new hangers. It's a real pain, but it works and you don't lose your overload springs.

i think the shackles and hangers were somewhat easier then the spindles on my 2/4. we didnt use a grinder. we used this air hammer that had like a flat head end on it, and just got right under the rivet and we just held it there until it chisoled off.

Yeah, grinding the heads off and then punching the rivets out was the easiest way to remove the front hangers. I tried the air chisel and worked my tail off getting them done. Then I tried drilling the center of the rivet out and blowing the head of the rivet off with the chisel. Finally, grinding the head off was quick and painless and only cost me part of one grinding wheel.
