    CaRaZy's BURB - lq4 twin turbo project

Hey guys, been reading endless amounts of threads on this site for a while for info on my current project. I figured it is time to introduce myself. I build transmissions for a living so if anyone needs help I will try my best to help. Its kind of me giving back to the site for what it gives to me with all the info available.

I have owned a 1995 Suburban K2500 w/ 454 and 4L80E forever it was my first ride and i'm turning 30 in a month. . . I did a lot to the truck 10 years ago; the whipple, built 454, trans, paint, body accessories, wheels, stereo system, tvs, etc and did a lot of national shows and it did very well, won a bunch. Well 10 years later she is going under the knife again and I am pulling the 454 tbi and whipple out (it is up for sale if anyone interested message me) and I have a LQ4 out of a 2005 Yukon Xl Denali with only 56k. Its going to be a slow process but I am doing a twin turbo setup and it gets done when it gets done kind of thing because I have a 2010 Sierra Denali that I use as my regular ride. While the weight on the front will change from the lighter engine I plan on taking a look at the suspension to see if I can bring the truck down a little to reduce wheel gap. Not sure if much have come out for 2500 Suburban suspensions since the last time I was modifying it. I'm updating a few things cosmetically to freshen it up and put some new tires under it.

I look forward to sharing the progress on here once I get the engine pulled out in a week or so. Just trying to find the time. I pulled the trans and tcase already.

I could use some pointers from guys that have already one this swap/build. I plan to just do a very mild cam, springs etc. The 6.0 is spotless and relatively low mileage. I also do not want to run high boost or do anything crazy with a nutty cam or anything. My goal is to pop the hood and have a WOW engine compartment and good performance. I have the connection for all the piping so that is not an issue. I figured if I keep the boost around 10 lbs with a good tune I can be pretty safe. Figuring out what set of turbos to use is another. Seems like people have so many different opinions, I rather talk to someone that has done it before with some numbers.

Wow looks super clean. I really like what you have done with it. I had a 98 burb in high school so the interior is all too familiar. Excited to see where you take it. I would suggest an isky boost cam and for turbos twin 60s should work really nicely. Good luck man.

I had my eye on the PTE 6266s but if I can save a little and have as good performance and reliability with a Magnum I would go that route. Just so many options.

Yeah finding out I can get the front off the ground was cool. However its rolling in first not from a dead stop. Still a lot of weight to get coming off the ground.

Finally some progress. Whipple is off and engine is a few bolts away from being lifted out. They need a new home to help further fund my project.

Been a long time trying to find time!

I have progress to report. I have the engine together just need to install back and front covers and pan. The nvg149 i built months ago with the machine input shaft. I have to rebuild my 80e and retrofit my 9.25 front diff for awd. At that point the powertrain will be ready to be installed.

Not easy finding time when this is one of my many interests and having a family too! Hopefully we will get this ready to roll by late spring.
