    99-03 Emissions Equipment

    Hey guys,
I am looking for diagrams or a list of what the emissions system consists of for 99-02 and 2003 model years. I want to know what year they started just putting cats on and ditch the airpump/egr

I think what he was saying is that vehicles with a Drive by wire system will have no egr system.

exactly. the dbw system is so much more efficiant burning fuel, emmisions output is less so the BAR decided egr was unnecessary. the rest of the smog equipment is still there as far as i know. i did a BUNCH of research on this as my swap needs to be cali compliant. read through my thread. there is a post i wrote about what is needed on MY setup. should be similar if not the same for u.

its inmy signature bud. heres a direct link to the post http://www.ls1truck.com/forums/showt...664#post509664

i suugest you do your own research on each one of these components to see how/what their function is and how to hook them up ie wiring/location of cats and o2 sensors as that is very important to passing the visual/sniffer. it will help you understand how it all works also and that it is actually a good thing to have.

the way it works nowdays with the DBW, their really is minimal power loss with everything on. the problem when making more power, more emissions will be output, and thats why FI is about the only option for big power and to stay under the radar....assuming of coure your FI has a CRB sticker also... lol
