    EGR Delete Pro's & Con's?

I would like to delete my EGR off my LQ4 because 1: its UGLY & 2: I want to get the Schoenfeld Headers and there is no EGR port in them. My buddy has an 02 Silverado and doing a tune up on it this past weekend I noticed that his never came with an EGR.

So im looking for the pros and cons of keeping it and deleting it. I dont have visual inspection for emissions here in Ohio and I know I can get it deleted out of the computer.

Little bit of weight loss? I don't really see any cons if it is done correctly and you don't have emissions to worry about.

Well I have emissions but no VISUAL inspection like some states have. I have been told that knock could be more pronounced. Cylinder temps would be higher. But with the right cam choice the temps would be ok.

This truck is a DD and occasional track toy.

I believe you wouldn't pass emissions cause your HC would be too high, maybe NOX also.

it will pass, they wont do a 'sniffer' test. just visual and scan for codes.

If its taken care of properly in the tune then you will have zero issues deleting it.
