    transmission runs higher rpm

Im on my way from Ok to Ct. Right now, Normally it runs steady at around 2000-2200 rpms from 60 to 75 mph with a 150° temp. I noticed yesterday it got to 175° when I stopped at a toll and started running 2500 rpms at 70 and up so when I got gas and let it cool down, 150° it was running normal again. Its the factory 60e with a 2600 verter and vette servo. Is this a problem I need to worry about or what?

Maybe it got warm enough to switch to hot Trans shift points. But at 175* I wouldn't think so.

Yeah, it was low 70 temps out the whole drive to Missouri yesterday and its only 73° right now. I did change the filter and fluid before the trip but that's it.

I think it was unlocking, everytime it happened I was going up a hill when it started. I couldn't get it to lock back up unless I shut the truck off and let it get back down to 150*
