    New from southeast Texas.

How's it goin everybody? The name is Andrew. I live about 50 miles south of Houston. Just recently got the go ahead from my wife that I can start on my project ( it only took me getting her a navigator but whatever lol). The project is a 2001 regular cab short wheel base silverado with a 4.3 and about 184,000 miles. The plan is to drop a slightly modified 5.3 in to it as well as some other suspension and body mods. Any help or pointers for the swap would be awesome. Looking forward to learning. Thanks

Welcome! Sounds like it'll be a fun project. Any reason a 5.3 and not a 6.0?

Not really a deciding factor except for availability and cost. I can get my hands on a few stock 5.3's for around 4-500 bucks but haven't found anyone selling a 6.0 for less than a grand. If at the time I go to purchase I find a better deal then I'll definitely go bigger.
