I was just wondering what makes a good na cam vs a good Fi cam. becuase i see guys runing 112 lsa lots of duration and high lift with turbos, my thought that was a good na cam. So FI i thought you want a loose lsa and high lift. Someone clarify for me.

The overlap + LSA is what is important.

I did the cam calculator and i if i remember right it said my cam had negative over lap. specs are 112 218/227 in/ex 525
untill you start seeing over 1k hp then the cam isnt as important as some may think. Hell i used a trex and had no issues with spool or boost....theres alot of myths out there that get passed on from ppl to ppl, then ppl live by those. its actually the ppl who think outside the norm are the ones usually with great success...it just took a few trys to get it right were as others just follow

it all depends on what your shooting for. Id rather have some overlap then neg for something that is going to make big power. If i was going to boost something heavy i would defferently spec a cam differently then a RCSB or even a fbody. Spend some time on sites like theturboforums, yellowbullet and the FI on tech. youll see certain ppl replying about using cams with overlap and there success. in a blower situation youll bleed boost but a turbo setup will still make boost as its regulated by the wastegate. if you dump the boost into the exhaust youll spool faster. bleeding boost also helps reduce back pressure allowing more rpm and resulting in more power.

so would you say my cam is a better blower cam then turbo?
for a heavy truck that cam should lite the turbo pretty well and have a tight power band...least how i see it. not something i would use for my RCSB but something like my crew id use it
