Yes there are MULTIPLE write ups on that swap on EVERY Ls based board out there.
Is it worth it? That all depends on the type of use your truck sees and the actual hp/ tq it generates.
Is it hard? Not if you are mechanically/ electrically inclined and know a good bit about GM products.
Figure out what you want from the truck and do a little reading. Then post back with any specific questions. There are MANY guys here and elsewhere that can answer them.

that link is for the 4l80 swap, not the 6l80 like the title says...just fyi
isn't the 6l80 the 6 speed tranny that is coming in the newer NNBS trucks? i'm not trying to be a punk, i'm really asking.
i had never considered a 4 speed to 6 speed swap, but that would be pretty cool.
