    Question trans rebuild kit

I need some suggestions.... my buddy keeps telling me to get my rebuild kit from monster transmissions but the kit i want is like $800... i saw a kit with pretty much the same stuff including kevlar cluthes and steel plates for around $500... so can someone tell me where to get them and which ones are most commenly used

what all are you planning on doing to your transmission, what kind of power will it hold, have you built one before? mine has held all kinds of abuse (burnouts, nitrous, 11 sec passes, brake stalls, high rpm) pretty much everything that kills a trans and i have yet to hurt regular raybestos clutches in my trans built here at our shop.

a good kit wont make a trans strong. there are several more import things that need to be addressed or you could end up with some very nice burnt clutches...
its just a turbo 5.3 that a couple of kids threw together

    www.bulkpart.com
    and
    www.transmissionpartsusa.com

I've ordered stuff from both before. Good service from both and good prices.

yah bought the HD2 shift kit thought them, however the kit doesnt come with the beast sunshell which i hear is a must when doing a rebuild. i know i want to go with borg warner 8 clutch pack, beast sunshell, wide 2-4 band, ive heard of some replacing the planetaries but some say the stocks will hold just fine. i've already done the transgo hd2 shift kit, vette servo, and 28k trans cooler,, may bump it up to a 40k though. i imagine the list should be enough to hold the relatively stock RST 5.3 for a while.
