LS1 question

What is the going price on an LS1.... my buddys dad owns a machine shop and got an ls1 out of a 2000 corvette and pretty much cleaned it up and he said he would give it to me for $2000... worth it or not? And if anyone knows where i could get better deals on motors please let me know...

Around here used LS1's go for around $1800.

i got my ls1 long block out of a 2000 camaro with 68k on it for 800 bucks

I got a 20,000 mile ls1 for $600 long block with computer and harness, my other buddy sold his for $800, but it had 100,000. I think i just git a good deal on mine

I got my LS2 for $1500, but it was just a shortblock
