    18k miles 2nd 60e messed up

    first trans went out at 3kmiles behind blown 4.8,,lost 2nd gear,,,got it replaced under warranty,,,,,,,,now at 18kmiles behind fbo cam and stalled 6.0 blew 2nd gear last niteagain haha ok its time for a built trans,where what would you recomend.i dont wanna do this over and over lol.i can get it warrantied again but what for?so it can happen again.

    80e time, unless it's still under warranty then get another freebie

    trans was stock besides servo and cooler,,,how much hp does 80e handle?

    dang man u must be WOT everywhere! ive got a 60e w/ 60,000 w/ servo, shift kit, and 40k cooler with not the first slip! (knock on wood!!!)

    the newer pcm will not control an 80e with the 60e tune. NBS pcms have done it successfully a few times. I'm not sure how they handle the gearing difference, though. If the gear ratios in the transmission were adjustable in the tune it may not be such a big issue.

    on the NNBS trucks its a simple TCM swap, move a few wires, add a speedo connector and you're ready to rock and roll. Read my trans swap post for the details on how to do it. NP can send you out a tuned TCM for the 80e swap.
