    1993 Diesel 4L80E behind a 2002 4.8?

I've got a '93 4L80E from a 6.5 turbo diesel 2WD C2500 with the manual injector pump. I've got the trans PCM/ECM and wiring from the trans to the ECM (simplest 4l80e pcm, right?). I'm considering putting a 2002 4.8 motor in front of this tranny in a custom 2WD vehicle. The 4.8 is from a Tahoe with an automatic (4l65e?).

    1. Will the tranny bolt up? Input shaft length issues? Crank bolt pattern?

    2. Can I use the tranny controller to control the trans and the engine controller to control the engine, keep them separate?

    3. Should I switch to a manny tranny ECM for the engine? My understanding is that the diesel tranny controller needs some sort of rpm signal from the motor (hooks to a sensor that goes in the distributor/vacuum pump hole in the 6.5 block).

    4. Is there any way to control the 4L80E with the 4.8 ECM?

    Any ideas?

It's an 80e so I'll bet you could get it to work, it will be an absolute dog though unless you change the torque converter. Those diesel 80e'stalled around 1400rpm
