Mine is running 180 with the factory trailer package external cooler + the radiator cooler. I've seen it about 200 in the heat. I need a bigger cooler, too. BTW, I have an 80e in it with a large capacity aluminum pan and the exhaust crossover for the ypipe runs right under the middle of the pan(pipe is wrapped).

put a deep pan, and another inline cooler, i run 2 in parallel to each other plus a deep pan i never see over 170 at WOT nor during the hotter months of there

maybe this is why my tranny is still running strong

Depending on how close that crossover is, wrapping it can make a big difference. Mine's fairly close and had it wrapped this winter, but my trans took forever to warm up. I took the wrap off and the heat from the exhaust helped heat up the fluid tremendously. Now that the heat from summer is here, I might get under there and wrap it again...

avalanche runs cool all the time, but it has a BM cooler and is an 80e with a bigger pan.
the farmtruc has two BM coolers, even with no lockup and being a glide, it's at 110 on the hiway and less than 200degs at the end of the track.

get a bigger cooler, that should help, or like they said, another one.

if your transmission temps are getting that hot with only one wot run, it could be slipping, seriously. it takes more than 5 or so to get my transmission heated up like that.

i don't like to see them higher than 190deg.

Yea im gonna wrap the y-pipe first thing in the morning, now that i got time.well see how it does with the wrap first.i mean yea ,ill do 1-2 runs on a backroad, and it climbs from 170-226 the highest i seen it.i dont really feel it slipping.but with the 3.23 gears hitting 105 at the end of second gear,i bet thats what it is,that 2nd gear is taking a beating lol,,ive already had the 2nd gear go out once with the 4.8/blower....i need to get them 4.11s in already.
