    Three wire coolant sensor wiring?

    deceided to put a three wire sensor in the stock location. what are the pins for that sensor? Is A and B the same and C to the gauge? Just a guess?
    1997 ECSB Chevy 1500 2WD, Lowered, tinted, 17" Impala wheels. True duals dumped w/ no cats. Ford 9" with LS1 F-body Brakes. Hipster (ATD) 4l60E. 3000 Stall.

    This is the diagram for your truck. According to it, terminal A goes to your ipc, as far as the other two, it's been a while since I've had to work on one of those but I believe one is 12v and the other is 5v, but I could be wrong. I'll get some better diagrams off mitchell at work tomorrow. I only have access to this alldata crap at home. Hope this helps.

    I am refering to the three wire sensor that was refered to in the parts list as a three wire temp sender for a replacement for the 2 wire one that just sends the signal to the computer. it is not the stock one, that is a simple one, one wire.

    The three wire sensor, the middle wire goes to the gauge, green, I believe it was. It has been about 5 years since I dicked around with one of those, though.

    A = black(gray 6.0)............coolant temp input to ecm, low reference
    b = yellow...........coolant temp input to ecm, sensor signal
    c = green............coolant temp input for cluster mounted temp gauge
