    fast thermostat and coolant temperature sensor Q's

    will a ls1 thermostat fit in a 5.3?

    what thread size is the coolant temperature sensor? is it in NPT?

    ok just found it M12 x 1.5 thread size

    depends on the year. 99-02 5.3 has thermostat built into housing

    03-newer has an old school thermostat.
    blown transmissions are about as useful as 97% of the guys on this forum

    trucks a 04, I want to know about a ls1 thermostat because a 180 is way cheaper for that then one for a 5.3. the hole thread thing is because I’m trying to figure out how to plum this Hayden Automotive 3651 - Hayden Electric Fan Controls - Application - SummitRacing.com

    It's called somedata! I know that an LS2 gto is the standard style that is seperate of the housing.

    my 01 5.3 has the thermostat built into the housing...

    looks like all ls1 camaros used the thermostat built into housing (just checked performance ones on ebay)


    so it'll work on a 99-02 silverado


    if you're an 04, the cooler thermostat should be DIRT cheap. Go to a parts store where someone knows what they are doing. They should be able to look up your size and just change temperature. i'll get the autozone number when I go to work today.

    thanks man, i went to napa and they didnt have a 180, i think the only 180 degree stat they had was a 186
