    fuel gauge problems..

    My fuel gauge quit working recently,so i replaced the sending unit and everything,and it still dont work! Anyone have any ideas what it could be? The truck is a 02 Z71.

    May be the ICP. If you have someone with a tech2, have them sweep the gauge and see if it works.

    When i first turn the key foward,the fuel gauge moves, but then it goes right back to empty after a second.

    Do you have a friend with a similar truck? You could try swapping clusters. it could be the stepper motor in there.

    There is a guy here in CT that rebulds clusters.

    Well this morning i decided to try another pcm i had laying around for my truck,and the gauge worked great! So i switched my "race" pcm back in,and it dident work. I called my dyno guy and hes gonna look at it this weekend. And i forgot to add that the fuel gauge quit working when it was on the dyno.
