    5.3 engine wanted

    well im realy thinking about swaping my 4.8 out it dosent have enough power for me and im looking at get a 5.3 i would go 6.0 but gas mileage sucks . i havent been able to find one around here for a good price i wanted to get a 2006 one the same year as my truck if yall know anybody who gots one hit me up im in houston

    Get rid of that programmer and get a nelson tune and ull get more power.

    i had the truck dyno with and with out the programmer and with out it it was 229 at the wheels and with it i was at 270

    yea you will see an increase, but as stated programmers mess with very little in the motor. imagine what a true tune will do for you. i bet it gets right around 300 with the change over to tune.

    well i guess i should sell it the only problem is i cant take the tune off of it right now cause i broke the programer so i wasnt sure if i had a custom tune would i have to buy a new programer and uninstall the tune thats on it right now

    Thats not tru. Nelson will send you a new pcm and you just send them your old one.

    I dont think you understand. THey send you a new one programmed and after you put theres in you have 30 days to send them your old one. Thus there is NO down time.
