    trans temp

so i installed a new trans temp gauge todat before i did a bit of driving around and realized i have no idea what optimum trans temp should be. driving on the freeway i stayed at about 180 but driving around town i went between 200-220 . so what temp should i be around?
Today 03:25 am 6 stringer o thats a good point, its ok ill just add a blinker fluid cooler
Today 03:24 AMtruckinL33 that's not a good place for it, you can overheat your blinker fluid with the capacitor
Today 03:23 AMtruckinL33 i need them for when i go back to 1985
Today 03:23 AM6stringer i mounted my flux capacitor next to my blinker fluid resevoir
Today 03:22 AMtruckinL33 me too, right next to my flux compasator!
Today 03:22 AM6stringer hey gear oil needs to be cooled, i have front and rear diff coolers

well i bought a 12x9x3/4 12k gvw tranny cooler too i just havent installed it. now i know why my trans died in less then 30k. why would it overheat like that? and i guess partially i can thank gm for there awesome design flaw. lets put a cooler that likes to be around 160 in a radiator that hangs around 210. outstanding

What kind of gauge did you install and where is the sensor? Makes a big difference.

I got mine installed in the same spot, and compared to HP tuners inside temp sensor readings was 1 degree of to the cooler side always, so not a biggy.

    Mine is Cyberdyne Digital.

Glad to see mine is not being abnormal. It will occasionally hit 200 if I'm going down the highway and on a hilly stretch (try and have someone tell you kansas is flat) but usually hangs out around 175 or so.
