    243 Heads

    I just picked up a set of 243 heads for my truck. I've been reading on here and I'm trying to put all the pieces of my build together. My truck is going to be a DD that I would like to have some pretty decent power. If I run the LS6 heads stock with the BBK SSI intake and the 228/230 588/591 lift cam will it make good power? Or is there something that I should do to the heads to make the best of that setup.

    its always a good idea to have the heads ported!! seems like youre gonna have a sweet setup there, i take it this is on a lqx engine ?

    Well I had thought about running that setup on my 5.3. But I'm debating on using a 5.7 instead.

    Would that setup run on a 5.3? i know the compression will be 9.1 to 1, but is that going to be a problem or is that a high enough CR?

    Its high enough, but not optimum. Good daily driving

    Id think 10 to 1 would be a good cr to shoot for at least... lq9 comes stock with it so it gives you a idea of if its streetable....

    Well I'm looking at running a 5.3, and with these heads it's not even close to that cr...

    Mill em down a lil. Less you have plans for a much larger motor with those heads or FI

    What's a lil? How much can I mill off of these heads? And if I do mill them and later won't to put them on a 5.7 LS1 is the cr gonna be way to high?
