    Transmssion help....

I have a 2001 Chevy 1500 2wd auto v6. AAMCO did the transmission rebuild a few months ago. It took them 2 try's to get it right and I think I'm still having some issues. The truck didn't move for a few weeks due to a bad fuel pump, now that's fixed it doesn't feel right while driving on the frw. If I'm not loosing my mind, I thought that the truck, while at 70mph would be in OD @ 1,500 rpm. Now, after the the replacement of the fuel pump, I'm 70mph @ 2,000 + rpm and I can't feel it kick into OD. I know the fuel pump has nothing to do with the change, but that's when I noticed the difference.

Do you guys have any ideas? The transmission is still under warranty with AAMCO but I trust them now as far as I can throw them. So I wanted to ask you guys first and get some ideas.

I put the OBII on and I'm showing 0 codes.

    Thanks,

    Carnell

I'd keep taking it back to them until they get it right or refund 100% of your money. If they're going to run a business they better learn how to rebuild transmissions correctly or they're going to go out of business with cost overruns.

if it was slipping you'll know it here in a few days. it should rev faster than accelerating badly too if slipping

I'll take it back to them. They haven't been honest with me in the past so I wanted to have a head start to the problem before I took it to them. After the first rebuild, I had some major issues and they said it wasn't the xmsn. Well when I got the truck back, it had a new xmsn and it had been in a accident and they didn't tell me. Sooo I hate the very thought of going back to them, but you have a good point and they need to get it right.

I'm not sure what gears I have. The truck shifts fine, I just notice that the rpm looks a bit higher at frw speeds.

open the glove box and look at the RPO code sticker and see what gears you have. There's a chart in here that will tell you what codes to look for. Also, what size tires. With that we can tell you what RPM you should be running in drive or OD.

My thoughts exactly. Sounds like the converter isn't locking. When you lightly press the accelerator pedal on the freeway, do the rpms climb a bit??? But you really don't notice the vehicle acceleration to go along with the increase in RPMS?

I am also guessing not tuning has been involved, so it is purely in the transmission. Maybe the TCC solenoid has been messed with? Internal wiring harness may be to blame? If the TCC solenoid was not plugged in, I am sure there would be a CEL.

I'm going to try and upload a picture of what I have in the glove box.

Ok that won't work due to me sending this from mi iPhone. One sticker has a bunch of numbers and codes. What one do you guys need?

When I press on the gas, the rpms climb with stedy accl. I'm come off the gas and it slows quickley as if I was Ina higher gear
