    Max HP for my 5.3

    How much HP do you think i can squeeze out of the LIL 5.3? NNBS 90mm intake with edelbrock 90mm tb, ported 706 heads, bigger cam, current cam is a 224/230 581/588. I want to hit 12's on motor... other mods will be a 3600 stall circle d and 4.10 or 4.30 gears...

    There must be guys around here that hit the 12's on a stock bottom end (no laughing gas). It would be a stretch, though. IMO you should punch it out and get rid of those dish pistons. Get into the 400+ hp club

    y punch it out and do all that i got an 05 ex cab 4x4 5.3 with 3.42 gears with just a texas speed cam kit which is hardend push rodes, cam 220/220/113 4deg advance timeing ground in 581 lift, headers, 3200 stall, shift kit, cai, and servos, with tune and im putn down 375 hp and 351 tq. if put heads on it i would be over the 400 hp mark

    it runs mid 13's now...yea punching it out and getting new pistons cost lots might as well go 6.0 if imma do that...i dont want to touch the bottom end other than maybe rod bolts

    I'd say push her till she breaks. SUPPOSED to be good to 500hp

    why get a bigger cam, thats the same cam i run and i promise ill hit 12s on motor at SAR this year, i ran 13.1 on a nitrous tune last year.

    Why not go bigger???? I dont see why a 228 or 230 cam would be 2 big......its gonna get a 3600 stall any ways...
