    Custom Sounds Austin

Hey guys, I purchased a system(dbl din, ipod hookup, drop down screen). Got what I thought was a good deal. Setup install date, was told everything was good. Halfway through the install I get a call telling me that its going to cost another 150 bucks to finish. I say I have already paid for the install, why the extra cost. The retarded salesman tells me my monitior does't fit, after being told that everything would fit in my truck(easy install). I say I paid for 8hrs of labor, and was told that would cover everything in the install. They said they had to make a shroud to fit the headliner. We talk about how they are screwing me, then they say. We can not use the Onstar harness, and save you 20 bucks. I say no I paid for it, use it. They saw nothing wrong with telling in the begininng that everything would fit, and then changing it after they had made the sell. So I show up to get my truck, and starting playing with the steering wheel controls which dont work as I was told they would. So get this I spent 120.00 on the harness to specificlly make them work, and was told that was as good as it was going to be. I go back inside to find someone with an IQ above 75 to talk to, and I get the same retard I started with, and say screw this I'm done. Fast forward a couple of hours. I go outside to play with it, and may damn dash lights are out. So be F*@k*&g aware that all the care about is make a sale, damn taking care of the customer.

They have never done good with me. All they try and do is to push JL and install fees. They wanted $5 for a 1/0 ring terminal. When the sales monkey told me that I literally laughed out loud and walked out the door. Which shop was this? I-35 or Burnet road?

Your not the only one...I spent big money there back in 06. They tried to charge me for the high-end Jl subs & installed the weak ones. Good thing I checked. I was not impressed with there (burnet rd) installation team. Then i went to 183 for some warranty work...couldn't find me on the system Blah blah...went all the way back to hutto to find the receipt & they still would not replace the speaker.
Lesson learned. DO everything your self.

you guys are not the only ones getting ripped off at custom sounds. about a year ago i went to custom sounds on san pedro (here in san antonio) to buy and install my 4 door speakers. I bought some JL audio speakers for the front and boston acoustic for the rears. i payed for the install and later that day i went back to pick up my truck. i was not impressed with the sound so i removed the back panel to find old busted speakers in the rear doors. they were not boston acoustic speakers like i payed for, to top it off they put silicone on the cone area were it was busted no joke. i was so pissed i almost beat the managers a$$. i made them pay me back they installed all 4 speakers free and they gave me the rear speakers free because they knew thay had a lawsuit comming. ill try and find a pic of the speakers.beware they will try to rip you off, they also sold my brother in law a burnt amp. do not buy anything at custom sounds

Holy crap Leche, it takes some balls to try and pull such a blatant ripoff on a customer. There's really no way to even claim that was a mistake.

Really? Huh, I always buy stuff there on their father's day weekend special but I install it. I go to the same San Pedro location, too! I figured they were bad installers. I'm real picky about install. Where is Brother's Auto Sound?
