    TBI boy takin the plunge...

Well Xmas came early for me today.....I have been searchin for a couple months for a 5.3 to swap into my 91 RCSB and today I found the winner....I hope. It is an L59 with 97k miles out of a 2002 Tahoe. It is complete with all accessories, harness, and ECM. Comes with everything except the TAC module/pedal. Snagged it for only $412! Maybe its just me but I think thats a good deal....I go pick it up Monday. Pics are kinda crappy but let me know what you think!

Im not real crazy about it being Flex fuel or DBW but I think I can deal with it....
It being flex fuel should not make any difference to me correct?
Now I need a transmission....Can anyone tell me what years 4L60Es will bolt right up to this motor with no adapter plates or modifications?

It is an auto recycler called LKQ. LKQonline.com This seemed to be a heck of a deal since most of the engines they sell at this price are not complete pullouts, have higher mileage, and do not include accessories. I could not pass this up especially since it happened to be located about 45 mins away. The only reason I can think of that made them sell this package so cheap is because it is flex fuel. I hope this flex fuel doesn't give me any troubles.

Awesome and it being only 45 mins away makes picking it up easy. I don't think the flex fuel will be hard to overcome.

I would assume that a 4l60e cam WITH the 5.3. But you should not have any problems with that. You could put a 4l80e, th400, powerglide, ect.

Ya i know it came with a 4l60e I just dont want to get a 4l60e from a different year and then have to swap flexplates or add adapters and stuff like that. So I was just wondering which years are the same. 99-06 all the same?

To my knowledge if you get the same year, or a little newer, you should be fine. I dont know if the 5.3 of the 99-00 year had the long crank snout like the 6.0 did. But I would assume so.
