    newbie with a project...

    Hey Everyone,

I've got a '64 C-10 Stepside Chevy that I've had for about five years now. Had the time but no money, but a couple of trips to the "desert" with the Navy has changed that. I just got a '00 5.3 with the 4L60E and all associated parts. Now the fun starts. Been looking around the forum and have already found a bunch of useful info. With ya'lls help I'll finally be able to get my dream going. Inherited "Big Mike" from my Uncle that passed and my ultimate goal is to get him road worthy so I can drive from the Charleston, SC area to the Nashville, TN area to "visit" my Uncle so he can see the finished truck.

Looking forward to working with ya'll...

No pictures yet. I hope to be working on it within the next couple of weeks. Once I get it out of my garage and into my buddies shop, I'll be taking plenty.

Well, it has begun. About eight hours worth of work and I'm just about ready to remove and replace the engine and transmission. Next thing is hood and inner fender well removal then engine/tranny. I found the paint was covering up a little more rust than I had originally thought was there, but that's why they make patch panels.
